Hello, I'm Lochlan... yes, Locky is just short for Lochlan.

Based in Taranaki, New Zealand, I specialise in fine art landscape photography, capturing mountains, coastlines, forests and the changing light that makes each place unique. My goal is to create photographs that encourage people to slow down, look closer and see familiar landscapes in a new way.

I don't think photography has a right answer, and that's probably why I enjoy it so much. For me, it's about curiosity—asking questions, trying new ideas, and seeing what happens when you look at something a little differently.

My photography doesn't follow a strict formula. Some images stay true to how the scene looked, while others push colour, contrast, and mood into something more creative. Neither approach is more "correct"—they're just different ways of expressing the same place. Editing isn't about fixing a photo, it's part of the process. If it helps bring an image to life or reflects how the moment felt, it's worth exploring.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me at home with my partner and our little boy, or diving into another photography rabbit hole. There's always something new to try, improve, or learn—and that's what keeps it exciting.
